Claire Haws is an associate in Axinn’s Litigation group. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation.
Claire earned her JD from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was a senior notes editor at the Michigan Business and Entrepreneurial Law Review and was a member of the Women Law Students Association.
Prior to joining Axinn, Claire was a law clerk at the appeals court division of the City of Chicago Department of Law. She assisted with an appellate briefing and oral argument in cases involving the city’s many departments.
Claire graduated from Northwestern University, where she double majored in Political Science and Legal Studies. During her undergraduate studies, Claire was a research assistant at the Institute of International Relations in Prague.
She was a summer associate with Axinn in 2021.

- Representing Google in antitrust multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
- Secured dismissal of claims against chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen in dispute arising from the high-profile chess cheating scandal.
- Secured asylum on behalf of pro bono client who worked in the democratic Afghan government’s National Directorate of Security.
