Cartel Enforcement Strategies: A Comparative Perspective Brazil - U.S.
On November 19, Axinn partner Tiffany Rider spoke at a lunch talk entitled, "Cartel Enforcement Strategies: A Comparative Perspective Brazil - U.S." at Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Tiffany joined Michelle Machado of Mattos Filho Advogados as a panelist to discuss trends and challenges involving private enforcement in cartel cases.
Hosted by the Harvard Law School Brazilian Studies Association, this program allowed attendees to view strategies and problem areas of cartel enforcement from both a Brazilian and U.S. standpoint over an authentic Brazilian meal. Issues for debate included:
- Interaction between private and public enforcement tools
- The role of public authorities in fostering private enforcement
- Difficulties involving private litigation cases
