Axinn Received Outstanding Achievement Award for Pro Bono Work
May 8, 2019
Axinn received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Washington Lawyers’ Committee during the WLC’s Branton Luncheon on June 26. Axinn represented the plaintiff in a suit against officers of the Montgomery County Police Department for excessive force and First Amendment rights violations for interfering with the videotaping of the police officers’ actions during the arrest of a family member and the MCPD itself for unconstitutional policies and procedures that lead to the officers’ actions. Axinn successfully defeated a motion to dismiss and obtained a favorable settlement during the course of discovery. The Axinn team included Michael O’Mara and Brandon Boxbaum.
