Axinn Named Firm of the Year for Second Time by Global Competition Review
April 30, 2021
Axinn is pleased to announce that it has been named “Firm of the Year – Americas” by Global Competition Review for the second time in the last five years.
“Firm of the Year – Americas” honors a firm based in North, South or Central America that has had an outstanding year in terms of both the quality and quantity of its competition work. After being named to GCR’s shortlist of nominees in February, Axinn was ultimately selected after an online vote of GCR’s readers, which includes over 10,000 competition professionals around the world.
“We are humbled to win this award for the second time from the premier antitrust and competition law journal,” said John Harkrider, Co-Chair of Axinn’s Antitrust Practice Group. “As a boutique firm, we pride ourselves on being trusted to work on some of the most complex and significant antitrust matters facing companies today, and our attorneys have demonstrated their ability to deliver impressive results for our clients time and time again.”
Axinn handled a number of high-profile matters in 2020, including representing Google in ongoing investigations, defending Tyson Foods in multiple class action litigations and regulatory investigations, acting as antitrust counsel for Thermo Fisher and Tufts Health Plan, and various other representations within the sports, pharmaceutical, health care and energy sectors.
“2020 was a significant year for our clients, particularly those in the technology, health care and life sciences industries, as they saw a surge in activity,” said Mike Keeley, Co-Chair of the firm’s Antitrust Practice Group. “With our superb bench of attorneys, many of whom hail from government and in-house positions, we were able to propel our clients’ businesses forward during a tumultuous year, despite market volatility and regulatory uncertainty.”
In addition to the firm’s recognition as “Firm of the Year,” Rachel Adcox, Antitrust partner in Axinn’s Washington, D.C. office, was also shortlisted for “Litigator of the Year” by GCR for her work as lead counsel on several class action litigation cases, including leading Tyson Foods in its defense of major treble-damage class action litigations. Adcox was also previously nominated for the award in 2019.
