Axinn Counsels BellSouth and Cingular in Acquisition of AT&T Wireless
January 1, 2004
Axinn served as antitrust counsel to BellSouth and co-counsel to Cingular in the successful completion of Cingular's acquisition of AT&T Wireless. This precedent-setting merger was the largest all-cash merger in history ($41 Billion). It involved one of the most extensive HSR second requests on record and required resolution of a number of important and complex issues at both the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission. Axinn lawyers played a major role in satisfactorily resolving all the major substantive issues involved in gaining antitrust and regulatory approval of this transaction.
